Dancing Sunshine Studio

Project Overview

Dancing Sunshine Studio began as a relic: a disused 300m² cabinet factory frozen in time, still full of old machinery, cabinet samples and yellowing brochures. The task was to turn this abandoned factory into a vibrant, multi-functional home for creativity, art and dance.

The first move was to strip away everything from the old fit-out and reveal the building's structural bones: a long, dim, steel-framed volume. To celebrate that length and bring the space to life, I ran a narrow skylight down the spine of the building, drawing a line of soft, diffused light through the whole interior.

With the canvas clear and lit, the space needed personality. The client's favourite colour, a bright, joyful yellow, became the guiding force: a shot of energy that gives the studio its name and its spirit. The result is a space that genuinely earns the name Dancing Sunshine: open, warm, and full of light and movement.
